How to Measure Bra and Panty Sizes
A bra size typically consists of two main parts: band size and cup size.
Accurately measuring these two data points can help you choose the most suitable bra.
Measuring the Band Size
The band size is the foundation of the bra measurement and determines the strap length.
Use a soft tape measure to circle the widest part of your chest
(usually the most prominent part of your bust).
Stand straight, and ensure the tape is parallel to the ground without being too tight or too loose.
Record this number; it is your band size.
Measuring the Underbust Size
The underbust size determines the band fit of your bra, which is key to comfort.
Wrap the tape measure around the bottom of your chest, just below the breastline.
Make sure the tape is snug against your skin but not too tight.
The difference between this number and your band size will determine your cup size.
Calculating the Cup Size
Cup size is determined by the difference between your band size and underbust size.
For example, if your band size is 85cm and your underbust size is 75cm, the difference is 10cm, which corresponds to a C cup.
Generally, for every 1–2 cm difference, the cup size increases by one (A, B, C, D, etc.).
How to Measure Panty Sizes
Panty sizes are based on your waist and hip measurements, which help you select a fitting panty style.
Measuring the Waist Size
Stand up and wrap the tape measure around your natural waistline, usually 1–2 fingers above your belly button.
Ensure the tape is snug but not tight.
Measuring the Hip Size
Stand relaxed, and wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Make sure you stand naturally and do not clench your hips.
Choosing the Right Style
Based on your waist and hip measurements, you can choose the appropriate panty style.
Panties come in various designs such as briefs, boxers, and thongs, each suited for different body types.
When selecting panties, consider not just the size but also comfort and material (lace, cotton, stretch fabric, etc.), as these affect the wearing experience.
Some Helpful Tips
Measurement Timing: It is recommended to measure in the evening, as the chest and hip measurements are typically more stable at this time, helping you obtain the most accurate data.
Measurement Accuracy: When measuring, make sure the tape is flat and you are relaxed, without squeezing your body. This ensures the accuracy of the measurement results.
Wear When Measuring: If possible, wear tight-fitting clothes when measuring, as this will avoid interference from other garments.
